Welcome...

We welcome you to Mt. Carmel Friends (well, at least virtually speaking).  It is our hope that if you have questions about who we are and what we're about, that you'll find those answered on this site.  If, however, you do not find the answers that you're looking for, please contact us in the manner that you prefer.  By phone, you can reach us at (937) 652-3252; by e-mail, we can be reached at pastor@mtcarmelfriends.com.

We are amazed at the ways in which God is at work at Mt. Carmel.  We'd love for you to join us to experience it yourself.

Who do you trust for your future? Government? Bankers? Yourself?

We live in an age of uncertainty and challenge.  Some say that government is too big, while others believe that it is too small.  We've seen economic turmoil, elevated unemployment rates and a very challenging housing market, to say the least.  Quite frankly, these realities can be anything from slightly discouraging to downright depressing.  Where does one go to find refuge in such overwhelming times?

The Bible tells us in Psalms that "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble" (Psalm 46:1 ESV) and in Proverbs, "Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths" (Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV).  We are greatly encouraged by the fact that the Lord holds our future, and that circumstances are not the guiding principle in the outlook of our lives!

God alone knows the way that your life will play out. It makes sense to trust him!

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope"  (Jeremiah 29:11 ESV).  Does this mean that life will be trouble free?  Well, not quite.  Jesus reminds us that we will have troubles in this world (which is not very encouraging); however, He reminds us to "take heart," for He has overcome the world.

Perhaps some of what we've shared here has piqued your curiosity or invited your questions, in which case we would relish the opportunity to talk with you.  If you have any questions, please contact us (or better yet, come visit).  We look forward to the chance to interract with you!
